Casting cute little dogs for "Toto the dog"

Do you have a cute, cuddly, well-behaved little dog?

Does it come when it’s called? Is it good natured and friendly? Does it like being around strangers?

If so, your dog could star in Jordan-Elbridge’s spring school musical.

The Jordan-Elbridge Musical Players are looking to cast the next “Toto” dog in its upcoming production of “The Wiz.”

“Toto the dog” auditions are set for 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Jordan-Elbridge High School auditorium, 5721 Hamilton Road, Jordan. The dog selected for the role must be available from March 11 to 17. Other criteria includes, the dog must be small enough to be carried, and can not be hyper, skittish or nervous.

“The Wiz” also includes a cast and crew of about 110 students in sixth- through 12th grades. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. March 16 and 17 in the high school auditorium.

J-E’s production of “The Wiz” is a 1970s version of Chittenango native L. Frank Baum’s popular children’s book, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and MGM’s 1939 blockbuster film, “The Wizard of Oz.”
